After an axciting and promising win in the last matchday, Real Madrid took a big step back this Sunday. The match against Celta Vigo was a total disaster: 2-0 defeat, two red cards, and another severe injury for Éder Militão, who had to be subbed off after just 25 minutes.

Fun fact: did you recognise the ex Barça players Ilaix Moriba, Marcos Alonso, Óscar Mingueza and Ferran Jutglà, all now playing at Celta? Maybe that's why Real struggled su much against Giráldez's team... Jokes aside, nothing went right this Sunday, now the atmosphere in Valdebebas looks really tense and the upcoming Champions League match is supposed to be more important than ever.

Tidbit: Sunday's match was Celta's Iago Aspas' 400th cap in LaLiga. What a legend of Spanish football!

Matchday 16: Focus on Álvaro Carreras

Carreras has been one of the best Real players of the season so far. He started as centre back with Militão (and later with Rüdiger), due to Huijsen's ongoing absence, but during the match he moved a lot on the pitch, recovered many balls and help build the construction. He was one of the best in the first half.

Unfortunately, he played a crucial role in Celta's first goal at minute 53. He and the whole madridista backline were surprised by that excellent outside of the boot pass by Swedberg that went in the net. From that moment on, Carreras got nervous and at minute 91 he was sent off after getting booked twice for protests. Williot Swedberg has been an absolute nightmare for Carreras!

Carreras will miss the next match and that will be a problem for Real's backline, that is facing really too many absences lately due to injuries. Fran García will definitely took Carreras' place as left back, but with no centre backs available, what backline is Xabi Alonso going to put in the decisive match against Manchester City?
